Dynabook Safety Recall Announcement for Toshiba branded AC Adapters supplied between 2008 and 2015

On February 21st 2024, Dynabook ANZ Pty Limited announced an expansion to the voluntary AC adapter recall notice posted in 2018. The affected AC adapters in the 2018 recall notice, which were limited to 2-pin AC adapters, have now been expanded to include 3-pin AC adapters.
These affected Toshiba branded 3-pin AC adapters may have been sold through your sales channels between 2008 and 2015 across various models and ranges either:
as part of the Toshiba brand of laptop computers,
as an optional accessory, or
as a spare part replacement during service.
We acknowledge that these products are aged and may not be in use by many consumers today, but trust that you will provide the necessary notice to your customers who may have purchased these products from your stores. (Note we are planning to include a notification within Windows Update as we understand customer contact information may be out of date.)
Consumers can be referred to our website https://acadaptercheck.dynabook.com/ where they can check if their AC adapter is subject to the voluntary recall. They will be required to input the AC adapter model number and serial number. This tool will then advise them if their AC adapter is subject to the recall. If affected, the consumer can register for a replacement AC adapter. If the AC adapter is not subject to the recall, the consumer can continue to use the product safely.
